Oyebamiji Seeks Ooni's Blessings for Osun Election

Bola Oyebamiji, a governorship candidate for the Osun State elections set for August 15, 2026, visited the Ooni to seek royal blessings and support for his campaign. During the visit, Oyebamiji pledged to uphold public trust and deliver good governance, emphasizing his commitment to the development of Osun State.

He highlighted the significance of the Ooni in promoting Yoruba unity and preserving cultural heritage, describing the monarch as a symbol of historical and spiritual importance. Oyebamiji's visit was also in line with advice from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who encouraged him to seek traditional blessings before commencing his campaign activities.

Accompanied by his running mate Kayod Adereti and APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal, Oyebamiji expressed humility and respect for traditional institutions, noting that past leaders drew inspiration from the Ooni. The Ooni stressed the importance of unity among politicians to avoid deepening divisions within the political space and emphasized the need for leaders to receive blessings for selfless service.
