CCII Urges Oyo Politicians to Focus on Issues for 2027

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) called on politicians in Oyo State to focus their campaigns on issues rather than engaging in name-calling and personal attacks ahead of the 2027 general elections. CCII President-General Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, in a statement from Publicity Secretary Mr Kola Olomide, stressed that campaigns should be platforms for candidates to present their visions and plans to the electorate.

Ajewole urged candidates to articulate their policies on critical areas such as education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, employment, and the economy. He warned that political differences should not lead to personal animosity and called for maturity and respect in public statements.

Ajewole also advised politicians to manage their media teams to prevent inflammatory rhetoric that could distract from substantive issues affecting the electorate. He emphasized the need for unity and peaceful coexistence among the people of Oyo post-elections.
