Oyo: Gov Makinde proceeds on annual vacation, hands over to deputy

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced his intention to proceed on annual vacation from August 29 to September 29, as per a letter sent to the Oyo State House of Assembly. The Governor stated that he would resume his duties upon his return on September 29.

In compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Governor Makinde formally handed over the responsibilities of his office to his deputy, Mr. Bayo Lawal, who will serve as the acting governor during his absence.

The Speaker of the House, Adebo Ogundoyin, acknowledged the letter and convened an emergency plenary session on Tuesday. Governor Makinde expressed his confidence in Deputy Governor Lawal's ability to fulfill the duties of the office in his absence and assured that he would resume his duties promptly upon his return.
