Oyo State Government Denies Rumors of Entertainment Tax, Calls Reports Fake

The Oyo State government has debunked viral claims circulating on social media alleging the introduction of an entertainment tax for weddings and burials. The government, through Commissioner Princ Dotun Oyelad, dismissed the reports as fake and baseless, urging residents to disregard them.

The official clarified that the alleged tax announcement did not originate from the government and warned against spreading falsehoods to discredit Governor Seyi Makinde's administration. Oyelad reaffirmed that the government has not introduced any tax on social gatherings and assured residents of legitimate government communication channels for official announcements.
