Oyo Health Board Advocates for Family Planning Services

The Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, in collaboration with the Society for Family Health, hosted a dissemination meeting at Jogor Hotel in Ibadan to review the achievements of the SHINE project. The meeting, attended by stakeholders in the health sector, aimed to discuss the impact of the project on family planning service delivery in Oyo State.

Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Muideen Olatunji, acknowledged the contributions of development partners in strengthening reproductive health services and improving access to quality family planning methods for women.

He noted that the SHINE research project significantly increased awareness and acceptance of hormonal intrauterine devices as a safe and effective long-acting family planning method among women of reproductive age. Jane Adizu, representing the Society for Family Health, commended the Oyo State government for creating an enabling environment for the successful implementation of the SHINE project and called for sustained investment in family planning services and continued training for healthcare workers.
