PalmPay Launches Purple Woman Program for Fintech Women
PalmPay hosted the third edition of its Purple Woman program in Lagos, focusing on enhancing women's participation in the fintech sector. Chika Nwosu, Managing Director of PalmPay Nigeria, highlighted the initiative's goal to address the low representation of women in fintech and the broader technology ecosystem.
The program, commemorating International Women's Day 2026, aims to create an inclusive digital economy by empowering women with technology-driven skills. Over the past three years, PalmPay has empowered 250 young women, with a target of 1,000 women submitting entries for this year's program.
The masterclass includes training in human resources, data analysis, digital marketing, personal finance management, UX/UI, software engineering, and product management. Selected participants will undergo a six-month internship, gaining practical experience across various departments.
Anthoni Iwuala, Human Relations Manager at PalmPay, emphasized a merit-based selection process. Nneka Okekearu from Pan-Atlantic University will deliver sessions focusing on self-worth and confidence for women.
