PalmPay's Femi Hanson Introduces NightGuard for Security

Femi Hanson, the Head of Marketing at PalmPay Nigeria, has raised concerns about the growing risk of financial fraud occurring at night, particularly when users may be less vigilant. This statement was made during the ongoing "PalmPay Dey For You" campaign, which aims to promote financial safety and educate customers on utilizing security tools available on the platform.

Hanson noted that incidents of fraud often spike when a phone is lost or when customers are less alert. In response, PalmPay has introduced NightGuard, a transaction protection feature within its upgraded Security Centre.

This feature allows users to set a protection window from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., requiring additional verification for transactions during these hours. Hanson stated that NightGuard is designed to enhance security when users are most vulnerable.

The initiative aligns with broader industry goals for consumer protection and fraud awareness as outlined in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Payment System Vision 2028.
