Parents Protest New Kwara University's Threat to Revoke Admissions Over Unpaid Fees

Parents of students newly admitted to Kwara State University (KWASU) in Ilorin are protesting against the management's ultimatum to pay tuition fees within a week or risk losing their children's admissions for the 2025-2026 academic session. The sudden directive has been criticized as insensitive and unrealistic, especially given the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

The parents, including Mari Oladipo and Usman Elelu, are mobilizing to appeal for an extension of the payment deadline. KWASU recently admitted its first batch of students across various degree programs.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old boy from Ilorin West was arrested for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl, leading to his apprehension by the police.
