PDP Candidate Oluyede Prioritizes Security in Ekiti

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Ekiti State, has committed to prioritizing security investments if elected in the upcoming governorship election on June 20.

He called for a comprehensive overhaul of the state's security architecture to ensure the safety of lives and properties, which he believes is essential for attracting investors. Oluyede expressed concerns over the recent kidnapping of 16 worshippers during a church service in Ilejemeje Local Government Area on April 28.

He stated that good governance and security should remain central issues in the political discourse of Ekiti State. Oluyede proposed the deployment of drones for surveillance, the establishment of solar-powered police stations, and improved community emergency systems.

He criticized the current state government for failing to adequately equip security agencies, describing police stations as dilapidated and poorly equipped. He emphasized that without security, economic growth and development cannot occur, as people are afraid to live and conduct business in an insecure environment.
