Lamido Accuses PDP Governors of Blocking His Chairmanship Bid, Cites Independence as Issue

Former Jigawa State Governor, Lamido, has accused PDP governors of thwarting his bid for the party's chairmanship, citing his perceived independence as the reason. Despite a court order mandating his participation, Lamido claims he was denied nomination forms.

The PDP Governor Forum, led by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, allegedly requested Lamido to step down, which he refused. Lamido criticized the party for prioritizing collective ideals over individual control, emphasizing the need for democratic values.

He called for intervention from senior stakeholders like former President Olusegun Obasanjo to restructure the party. Lamido warned of a decline in internal democracy within the PDP if the current trend continues.
