Wike Declares Support for Tinubu in 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, made a public declaration on Monday during a media chat, stating his intention to support Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Wike criticized the People's Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that it has not learned from its past mistakes, particularly in relation to the 2023 elections.

He noted that he and other members of the G5 group had previously worked against the PDP's interests during the presidential election, which was marked by a refusal from the PDP leadership to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the South. Despite his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Wike was involved in the successful campaign for the APC candidate in the upcoming FCT council elections scheduled for February 2026.

He emphasized his commitment to the APC's agenda and his political status remains unchanged, indicating his active involvement in future campaigns.
