Fayose Declares PDP Dead After Court Decision Halts National Convention

Former Ekiti State Governor Fayose has declared the People's Democratic Party (PDP) dead after a court ruling prevented the party from holding its national convention. The PDP's internal crisis deepens as prominent members reportedly abandon the party ahead of the scheduled convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The court's decision stemmed from a suit filed by a former Jigawa State Governor challenging the party's inability to nominate him for the national chairmanship position despite paying the required fees. Furthermore, the court ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not participate in any activities related to the convention in Ibadan or elsewhere in Nigeria.
