PDP in Crisis as Wike's Allies Suspended Ahead of National Convention

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has plunged into a deeper crisis as the party's National Working Committee (NWC) suspended senior members, including allies of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The decision to suspend the members was made during the 608th NWC meeting held on November 1st, 2025.

The suspended members, including the National Secretary Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, National Organ Secretary Hon.

Umar Bature, and others, were referred to the National Disciplinary Committee. The internal turmoil within the PDP has escalated ahead of the national convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The party's preparations for the convention were temporarily halted by a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja, which the party plans to appeal.
