PDP state chairmen, ex-govs, NASS members, others disown Southern zoning meeting

State chairmen of the People Democratic Party (PDP), former governors, National Assembly members, and other stakeholders have disowned a Southern zoning meeting scheduled in Lagos. The group within the party aims to zone positions of PDP leadership in Southern Nigeria.

They dismissed the resolutions and communiqués from the meeting as not binding and not reflective of the collective aspirations of the PDP family across Southern Nigeria. The statement, signed by state chairmen and other prominent members, criticized the meeting for excluding key stakeholders and important figures, such as former governors and the Minority Leader of the National Assembly.

They emphasized the importance of inclusivity, equity, and consultation in decision-making within the party. The group called for unity and transparency in the party's processes to maintain credibility and relevance.

They urged all stakeholders to resist any attempts to manipulate zoning arrangements and ensure decisions are made through proper consultation and consensus.
