PDP Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket To South

The PDP has announced the zoning of its 2027 presidential ticket to the South following the decision made at the party's 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja. The decision was based on the report presented by the zoning committee chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri.

The party's National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, confirmed the decision and stated that the NEC expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the upcoming national convention scheduled for November in Ibadan, Oyo State. The NEC also confirmed Ambassador Iliya Damagum as the substantive party appointment.

The meeting, which began at 2 pm, discussed the zoning committee's proposal in preparation for the November convention, seen as a crucial step in strengthening the PDP ahead of the 2027 general election.
