Peter Obi Declares 2027 Presidential Bid Amid APC Pressure

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, declared his intention to run for the presidency in the 2027 elections, stating that he is not intimidated by the 30 governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Obi made this announcement during a grace empowerment program in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He criticized the current state of Nigeria, claiming it is on the brink of collapse and that the country needs redemption. Obi expressed his desire to see Nigeria function effectively, highlighting issues such as poverty and inequality.

He also mentioned his departure from the Labour Party, citing a lack of recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a reason for his exit. Obi called for free and fair elections, urging the governors to allow a level playing field for all candidates.

He emphasized that he is not desperate for the presidency but is committed to improving the nation.
