Peter Obi Engages in Consultations for 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is currently involved in extensive consultations with political stakeholders and allied groups as he prepares for the 2027 general elections. Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, announced this development in a statement issued on Saturday.

The consultations aim to strategize and determine the political direction that will garner support for Obi amid a shifting political landscape. Speculation has intensified regarding potential realignments involving Obi and opposition figures, particularly following comments from Habibu Moham, spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, who suggested that Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso might consider leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Tanko emphasized that Obi's engagement remains focused on identifying strategic paths to align with a collective vision for a better Nigeria, ensuring that every decision reflects long-term values for the country.
