Kwankwaso Prioritizes Nigeria's Unity Over Ambition

Ladipo Johnson, the former spokesman for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), remarked in an interview that Rabi'u Kwankwaso is placing Nigeria's unity above personal ambitions. This statement was made in response to the recent political shifts involving two opposition leaders, Kwankwaso and Peter Obi, who have both defected from their parties.

Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate for the Labour Party, left the NNPP to join the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), while Peter Obi departed from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the NDC as they prepare for the 2027 elections. Johnson expressed that Kwankwaso's actions demonstrate a commitment to Nigeria's unity, which he believes is more important than individual ambitions.

He indicated that Kwankwaso's support for Obi's political journey is a significant step towards fostering unity among leaders in the country.
