Peter Obi Exits Labour Party, Joins African Democratic Congress

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, revealed his reasons for leaving the Labour Party during an event in Uyo on Saturday. He described the current administration as having accumulated heavy debt, warning that future generations would bear this burden.

Obi emphasized the importance of investing in education and healthcare to develop Nigeria, urging citizens to set aside differences and unite ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. He accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of not recognizing the leadership of the Labour Party.

Obi also disclosed plans to tour the country to understand citizens' challenges firsthand and to mobilize support for the African Democratic Congress, which he is now affiliated with. Tanko Yunusa, a coordinator for the Obidi movement, echoed Obi's call for mobilization, while Dr.

Ben Smith, another coordinator, urged unity among members.
