Peter Obi Urges Immediate Release of Abducted Children

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra State, has made an urgent appeal for the immediate release of schoolchildren who were recently abducted. He described the condition of the children as heartbreaking and a stark reminder of the worsening insecurity in Nigeria.

Obi expressed his deep distress over images showing signs of physical abuse on the children, emphasizing the long-term consequences of poor governance and societal neglect. He warned that the failures of today will ultimately affect the future of the nation, stating that the abuse of children today will lead to revenge in the future.

Obi linked the country's growing debt burden to the welfare of future generations, arguing that current leaders' loans will adversely impact children who will have to repay them. He made a direct appeal to the abductors, urging them to consider the innocence of the children and to release them unconditionally, allowing them to return safely to their families and society.
