Peter Obi’s political influence declining – Lagos LP

Labour Party LP Lagos State Chairperson Dayo Ekong has stated that the political influence of former Vice Presidential candidate Peter Obi is declining ahead of the 2023 general election. Ekong urged Obi to pause and reflect on his dwindling influence, noting that his rising profile as a potential candidate is inconsistent with his past political moves.

Ekong emphasized the need for a fresh alternative in Nigerian politics, suggesting that Obi's divisive choices are eroding his support base. Ekong pointed to the 2024 Edo governorship election, where Obi supported Olumide Akpata, a LP candidate, over the party's preferred leader.

This statement comes as a warning to Obi that his support may be waning among Nigerians seeking change.
