Labour Party Denies Peter Obi 2027 Ticket Amid Controversy

Labour Party has confirmed that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, will not receive the party ticket for the 2027 general election. The party's National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, cited the momentum from the last election, largely driven by the EndSARS movement and discontent with the previous administration, as reasons for this decision.

Arabambi accused LP's acting National Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, and activist Aisha Yesufu of colluding with Obi. Obi, who publicly backed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after coming third in the 2023 election, is now facing expulsion if he does not openly announce his departure from the party.
