Petrol Prices Drop Below Dangote Refinery Rate

Petrol prices have fallen below the Dangote Petroleum Refinery's ₦1,350 per litre rate in Calabar, Warri, and Port Harcourt, according to a market survey by Petroleumprice.ng. In Calabar, depots such as Alkanes, Sobaz, Fynefield, and Northwest are selling petrol at ₦1,330 per litre, which is ₦20 below the refinery's price.

Warri's Nepal, Matrix, and Optima depots are quoting ₦1,335 per litre, while Port Harcourt's Masters and Stockgap depots are selling at ₦1,333 and ₦1,332 per litre, respectively. This price reduction is attributed to increased petrol availability and competition among depot owners, with Calabar having seven depots, Warri five, and Port Harcourt six.

The unusual market situation has resulted in cheaper petrol prices outside Lagos, where prices remain higher despite being close to the refinery. The current price structure shows Calabar at ₦1,330, Warri at ₦1,335, and Port Harcourt between ₦1,332 and ₦1,333, while Lagos prices are at ₦1,351 and ₦1,352.
