Edo Governor Okpebholo Compares UK Petrol Prices to Nigeria

Edo State Governor Okpebholo claimed that petrol costs over N3,000 per litre in the United Kingdom, suggesting that Nigerians are doing well despite local petrol prices. He made these remarks on Thursday during the "Operation Rescue Benin-Asaba Road" event in Edo State, where he also defended the economic reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Okpebholo recounted his recent trip to London, where he compared fuel prices, stating that after conversion, UK petrol prices were significantly higher. He emphasized that the ongoing economic measures, while challenging, are essential for Nigeria's future stability and development.

He used the analogy of an aircraft taking off to illustrate that the benefits of these reforms would soon be realized. Additionally, he supported Tinubu's presidency ahead of the 2027 elections, questioning the motives of those seeking to challenge the President, and highlighted ongoing road construction projects as evidence of progress under the current administration.
