Petrol Station Workers Demand Health Insurance Amid Poor Pay

Petrol station workers employed by members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) are urging the introduction of health insurance coverage for their poorly-paid colleagues nationwide. This call comes after the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) recently launched a health insurance scheme for its workers.

Ibrahim Zango of IPMAN commended NNPC's initiative and emphasized the importance of prioritizing workers' health and welfare in the downstream petroleum sector. The workers stress that access to healthcare should be a fundamental right for all employees, especially in high-risk sectors like theirs.
