Phyna Triumphs Over Nkechi Blessing in Boxing Match
Phyna, known as Ijeoma Otabor and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, defeated Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing in a four-round celebrity boxing bout held on Thursday at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. Phyna won by stopping Nkechi in the fourth round, with the actress unable to beat the referee's count.
This match was the first female celebrity boxing bout organized under Balmoral Promotions' 'Chaos in the Ring' series. Phyna's victory earned her ₦50 million in prize money, a championship belt, and a new car.
The fight followed weeks of public disputes between the two women, which began on September 17 when Nkechi criticized Phyna in an Instagram video. Both women exchanged taunts leading up to the fight, including confrontations at events and a press conference.
After her victory, Phyna called out actress Etinosa Idemudia, who accepted the challenge for a future boxing match.
