Court Schedules July 1 Hearing for Angwan Rukuba Case

The Plateau State court has set July 1, 2026, for a definitive hearing in the Angwan Rukuba case, which involves five suspects charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal dealing in arms and ammunition. The suspects were arrested in connection with an attack that resulted in 23 fatalities and various injuries.

During a pre-trial procedure on Friday, the prosecution, led by Barrister Philemon Dafi from the Plateau State Ministry of Justice, informed the court about the necessary processes for filing and exchanging documents among parties involved. The defense counsel confirmed compliance with the court's directives and expressed readiness to open their defense during the trial.

Justice Gidelia Fomyon presided over the case management process, which concluded in accordance with legal guidelines, and the matter was adjourned to May 26, 2026, for further proceedings.
