Plateau PDP Ratifies Sunday Garba Biggs for 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, the Plateau State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) formally ratified Sunday Garba Biggs as its consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship elections. This decision followed a transparent statewide consultation process that involved party elders, youth groups, and women leaders from all 17 local government areas, who endorsed Biggs as the party's flagbearer.

The event featured the symbolic handover of the PDP flag to Biggs, marking the official start of his campaign journey. Biggs, a former senior government official and previous governorship aspirant, expressed gratitude and emphasized the need for unity and dialogue within the party.

He reaffirmed his commitment to serving Plateau State and addressing key issues such as peace, economic recovery, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development. Mark Jacob, the chairman of the Plateau PDP governorship electoral committee, described the selection process as a model of internal democracy, contrasting it with rival parties.

The ratification signals the beginning of a united effort to reclaim the governorship seat in 2027.
