Aondoakaa Selected as PDP Consensus Candidate for 2027

Michael Aondoakaa has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State for the upcoming 2027 elections. This decision was reached during a consensus arrangement in Makurdi, where ten aspirants stepped down to unanimously endorse Aondoakaa's candidacy.

The agreement followed several weeks of strategic meetings among key party leaders and stakeholders, including former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom and Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro. PDP State Chairman Ezekiel Adaji and members of the State Executive Committee were also involved in the process.

The outcome received formal endorsement from influential blocs within the party, affirming their support for Aondoakaa. Although Denni Ityavyar expressed concerns regarding zoning, the consensus was praised as a strong step toward reclaiming electoral victory in 2027.

Aondoakaa committed to initiating reconciliation efforts within the party and ensuring inclusivity in the campaign structure.
