Senator Abbo Leaves ADC, Joins Labour Party Ahead of 2027

Senator Abbo, a former federal lawmaker representing the Adamawa North senatorial district in the 9th assembly, has officially announced his departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Labour Party. This decision was made public in a statement issued on Sunday, where Abbo attributed his shift to the ongoing leadership crises affecting the ADC at both national and state levels.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs within the ADC, which has left him feeling uncertain due to various court judgments regarding the party's leadership. In his statement, Abbo also pleaded for forgiveness from friends who may be unhappy with his decision.

He emphasized his commitment to support the Labour Party as he prepares for the upcoming 2027 general elections, indicating a close collaboration with the party's leadership and its presidential candidate.
