Adamawa Police Arrest Man for Stabbing Wife in 2026

Balamau Lardi, a 49-year-old resident of Kurnyi Tudu Village in the Kurnyi District of Guyuk Local Government Area, was arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his 37-year-old wife, Biyagwal Balamau, on September 23, 2026. The stabbing occurred after a report was made by the District Head and Village Head of Kurnyi, indicating that Lardi inflicted a grievous injury on his wife, specifically on the left side of her ribs.

Following the report, operatives from the Guyuk Divisional Police Headquarters quickly responded, rescuing the victim and apprehending the suspect. Biyagwal Balamau was taken to a medical facility for treatment and surgery.

The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the incident as an act of Gender-Based Violence and instructed the investigation department (SCID) to handle the case with diligence. He urged the public to resolve domestic disputes peacefully and report any cases of domestic violence to the police.
