Police Arrest 27-Year-Old for Murder at Adamawa Hotel

The Adamawa State Police Command arrested a 27-year-old man named Ali Haruna in connection with the alleged murder of a woman at No Vex Hotel in Girei Local Government Area on August 14, 2026. According to a statement from the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, police operatives responded to reports of an altercation at the hotel on Friday.

Upon arrival, they found the victim with severe injuries and in a pool of blood. She was taken to a medical facility but was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

Preliminary investigations indicated that Haruna, who is from Bolori Ward in Maiduguri, Borno State, allegedly confessed to the crime. The knife believed to have been used in the murder was recovered from him.

Commissioner of Police Kabir Hassan has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation. The police urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
