Edo Police Arrest Islamic Teacher and Kidnappers

Jubril Ibrahim, a 52-year-old Islamic teacher, was arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly preparing charms for kidnappers. He was paraded alongside four suspected kidnappers on Tuesday, with the Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daor, stating that the suspects were apprehended in Niger State based on intelligence gathering.

Ibrahim denied the allegations, claiming he only prayed for one of the suspects, Ahmadu Suleiman, at the request of his mother for safe travels. Suleiman, 24, confessed to being involved in a kidnapping operation in Auchi, where he earned One Million Naira.

He described their method of operation, which involved shooting into the air to scare residents and abducting them for ransom. Additionally, a 21-year-old suspect was paraded for allegedly stealing a baby at Ring Road, Benin.

The police urged the public to provide credible information to assist in combating crime.
