Oyo Police Arrest Four in Truck Hijacking Syndicate

The Oyo State Police Command arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and truck-hijacking syndicate. The arrests were made following actionable intelligence and a public tip-off regarding the syndicate's operations on August 24, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Olugbenga, directed the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) to conduct a stop-and-search operation along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. During this operation, a white SINO HOWO truck was intercepted, leading to the arrest of two suspects: Ojedokun Olakunle Isaac, a motor boy, and his accomplice Ajuwon Ismail.

Ojedokun confessed to masterminding the hijacking. His confession led to the arrest of two additional members, Adekunle Sunday, who acted as the designated driver for hijacked trucks, and Rasheed Music, who specialized in removing vehicle trackers.

The operation successfully disrupted the syndicate's plan to sell the stolen truck in Kwara State.
