Police Arrest Six Kidnappers in Kaduna ₦24m Ransom Case

The Nigeria Police Force arrested six suspects involved in the kidnapping of CSP Sila Kundi's son, Enoch Sila, in Kaduna State. The suspects, identified as Yusuf Shuaibu (23), Abubakar Batur (19), Yau Murtala (19), Bello Suleiman (19), Abdul Kareem Nuhu (36), and Ahm Musa (28), were apprehended on April 3, 2026.

The kidnapping occurred in October 2025, during which a ransom of ₦24 million was allegedly collected. Despite the ransom payment, Enoch Sila was not released until police intervention, which successfully led to his rescue unharmed.

The operation was part of a broader effort by the police's Special Tactical Squad and Intelligence Department, as disclosed by spokesperson Anthony Placid during a press briefing in Abuja. Investigations revealed that Yusuf Shuaibu is linked to a notorious kidnapping syndicate led by a gang leader known as Kachalla Gwanna, operating from Rijana Forest in Kaduna State.

Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend additional members of the syndicate and recover weapons used in the crime.
