Nigerian Police Confirm Arrest of Activist Sowore for Violating Court Order

The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the arrest of activist Omoyele Sowore for allegedly breaching a court order by participating in a protest demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu. Sowore was arrested shortly after leaving the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The court had issued an interim order restraining Sowore and others from staging protests in certain sensitive areas of Abuja. Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that Sowore and others arrested will be arraigned soon.

Thirteen suspects, including Sowore, were arrested in connection with the protest violations.
