Kaduna Police Dismantle Bandit Camps, Arrest 17 Suspects

The Kaduna State Police Command conducted a major clearance operation from February 10 to 13, 2026, dislodging several bandit camps and arresting 17 suspects across four local government areas: Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru. The operation aimed to target identified criminal hideouts and was marked by fierce exchanges of gunfire.

During the operation, police recovered three English-made AK-47 rifles, seven fabricated firearms, an English pistol, and a large quantity of hard drugs. Among those arrested were individuals linked to drug supply networks associated with criminal gangs.

The suspects identified include Ahamdu Bala, Abdullahi Alh Fulani, Ado Bayero, Reku Samaila, Bala Nasiru, Rabiu Ibrahim, Bello Jafar, Adamu Nura, Abdullahi Adamu, Alh Raini Adamu, Haruna Ado Babwuro, Shuaibu Sa Idu, Isiya Bammi, Alia Kire, Kabiru Adamu, Habibu Rabiu, Suleiman Adam, Abubakar Idri, and Rabiu Muhammad. The police command is continuing investigations to dismantle a wider criminal network and apprehend fleeing accomplices.
