Kaduna Police Recover 25 Firearms, Arrest Gunrunners

The Kaduna State Police Command announced the recovery of no fewer than 25 firearms and the arrest of multiple suspects, including five gunrunners, during intelligence-led operations across Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru local government areas. Police Commissioner Rabiu Muhammad provided details in a press briefing on Monday, highlighting the dislodgment of several bandit camps during these operations.

Among the recovered items were three AK-47 rifles, one SMG rifle, two English pistols, four locally made pistols, and 21 fabricated firearms. The operations also led to the arrest of suspects involved in the illegal arms trade, including Adamu Aminu Jaji from Igabi LGA, who was found with six fabricated AK-47 rifles, three fabricated revolver rifles, two fabricated pistols, and seven AK-47 magazines.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were involved in the illegal arms fabrication, fueling criminal activities within and beyond Kaduna State. Additionally, three suspects were arrested in Kasuwan Magani for engaging in illegal weapon transactions involving locally made AK-47 rifles and fabricated pump-action guns.
