Cross River Police Disburses N13.75m to Families of Fallen Officers

The Cross River State Police Command has distributed insurance benefit cheques totaling N13,753,885.36 to 17 families of deceased police officers who served in the state. This presentation occurred on Thursday at the Police Command Headquarters in Calabar, with the cheques handed over by the State Commissioner of Police, Ajo Ordue.

The payment was sanctioned by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, as part of the Nigeria Police Force Group Life Assurance Scheme. Commissioner Ordue expressed that while no financial amount could replace a lost loved one, this gesture aims to provide meaningful support to the bereaved families.

He emphasized the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and their families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the deceased officers. Ordue urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely and reassured them of the command's ongoing support.
