Police Investigate Ammunition Parcel Delivered to Bank MD

The Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into a suspicious parcel delivered to Oluwasegun Alebiosu, the Managing Director of First Bank. Tijani Fatai, the police commissioner, disclosed during a press briefing that the investigation aims to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

On May 7, 2026, Alebiosu discovered two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition concealed in a package delivered to him. The parcel was reportedly received by a security guard at the bank and was marked confidential, bearing Alebiosu's name and address, but the sender's identity remains unknown.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, but the police are pursuing several leads. Forensic intelligence is being utilized to establish the source of the parcel and identify anyone connected to its delivery.

This incident comes amid heightened security concerns for corporate executives and high-profile individuals in the country.
