Police Investigate Shooting of Emir Ajagungbade in Osun

The Osun State Police Command announced on Sunday that it has initiated an investigation into the shooting of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as ‘Emir Ajagungbade’. The incident occurred during a clash involving Emir and a group of drivers led by a man identified as Sibi at Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife.

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke confirmed Emir's death in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, and directed the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, to apprehend those responsible for the shooting. Police Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi stated that officers were deployed to the scene to restore order and secure the area.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Emir was shot, and the police are working to uncover the causes of the incident and identify those involved. The Commissioner of Police condemned the act and urged the public to refrain from violence or reprisals, assuring residents of the police's commitment to maintaining peace and security.
