Police Rescue Abducted Woman, Arrest Four Suspects in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command successfully rescued a 26-year-old woman named Ogechi John, who was allegedly abducted on Monday near a filling station along the Emure Akure Expressway. The police, led by Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh, reported that the suspects arrived at the scene in a car without a registration number and forcibly took the victim away.

Upon receiving a distress report, the police coordinated an immediate response with personnel from the Amotekun Corps and local hunters, strategically monitoring entry and exit points within the Owo community. Their efforts resulted in the discovery of the suspects' abandoned getaway vehicle in a bush area near Ojona.

Four suspects were arrested, identified as Fridai Shola (27), Fridai Mondai (21), Osho Joseph (24), and Lawal Mariam. Preliminary investigations revealed that the abandoned vehicle was allegedly handed over to a herbalist.

The police continue to gather relevant evidence and statements as the investigation proceeds.
