Police Rescue Kidnapped Woman, Arrest Four Suspects in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command successfully rescued a 26-year-old woman named Ogechi John, who had been abducted on June 8, 2026, near Gozako Filling Station along the Emur Akure Expressway. Following the kidnapping, the police received a distress report and promptly launched a coordinated response involving the Amotekun Corps and local hunters.

The operation focused on strategic entry and exit points around Owo, leading to the discovery of an abandoned vehicle linked to the suspects. Four individuals were arrested: Fridai Shola (27), Fridai Mondai (21), Osho Joseph (24), and Lawal Mariam.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one suspect had allegedly disclosed the location of the abandoned vehicle to a herbalist. The operation was led by DSP Abayomi Jimoh and was praised by Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, for its professionalism and resilience, reaffirming the command's commitment to ensuring safety in the state.
