Police Rescue Coach from Mob Over False Theft Claims

Solomon Ogan, a football coach, was assaulted by members of the local vigilante group, OSPAC, in Igwuruta, Ikwerr Local Government Area, Rivers State, following allegations that he had stolen a man's manhood through supernatural means. The incident escalated after the victim, who claimed to have lost his manhood, raised an alarm.

A viral video showed Ogan being interrogated and assaulted by the vigilante group. Ogan denied the allegations, and his brother condemned the actions of OSPAC, asserting that there was no evidence to support the claims.

The Rivers State Police Command intervened, rescuing Ogan and condemning the mob justice. They stated that accusations without evidence are unjust and called for the prosecution of the OSPAC members involved.

The incident, which occurred on June 22, 2026, resulted in Ogan sustaining serious injuries, prompting calls for the immediate release of those wrongfully detained and accountability for the vigilante group's actions.
