Kogi Police Express Sympathy for Injured Journalists

The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has expressed deep sympathy for members of the Kogi State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists who were involved in a road accident on Saturday. The accident occurred when a reckless truck driver struck the journalists as they were returning from an official assignment in Ekinrin Adde.

Although the journalists sustained various degrees of injuries, there were no fatalities reported. The injured members were rushed to a hospital in Lokoja for treatment and were discharged the following day.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the command's spokesperson, ASP Oyiza Afusat, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Kankarofi, conveyed the command's sadness regarding the unfortunate incident. The police command extended heartfelt prayers and solidarity to the injured journalists and their families, recognizing the sacrifices made by journalists in their line of duty to keep the public informed.
