Newborn Rescued from Rubble After Venezuela Earthquakes

A newborn baby was successfully rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building in La Guaira, Venezuela, after being trapped for 32 hours following twin earthquakes that struck the region. The earthquakes, which occurred on a Wednesday, had magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, resulting in significant devastation.

A video shared on social media by user andreina quintero showed rescuers working under floodlights to retrieve the infant, who was wrapped in a quilt and appeared unharmed. The rescue took place late Friday, with the baby being just 18 days old at the time.

The mother was rescued shortly after the baby, and medical workers reported that the baby did not appear to have any injuries. The earthquakes have resulted in at least 920 fatalities, with thousands more injured and many still missing.
