Nigeria Police Launch Vigilant App to Combat Fraud

On Tuesday, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, launched the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App and the NPF–MTN Closed User Group Network at the NPF Conference Centre in Jabi, Abuja. These initiatives aim to improve the reporting of financial fraud and enhance communication among police personnel.

The Vigilant App is designed for citizens to submit suspected fraud reports, upload evidence, track cases, and receive feedback. The NPF–MTN CUG Network provides secure communication for police officers nationwide to support emergency coordination and operational response.

The app was developed by the Force ICT Department in collaboration with stakeholders in the financial services sector. Disu emphasized that these platforms represent a significant step in the Force’s digital transformation and will strengthen public engagement.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Fayoade Mustapha encouraged Nigerians to download the app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for responsible use in reporting fraud.
