Buhari's Ex-Chief of Staff Warns Against One-Party State in Nigeria

The former Chief of Staff to late President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement in Abuja, highlighted the dangers of a one-party state in Nigeria. He expressed concerns about the ambitions of political elites within a single party and stressed the importance of checks and balances to avoid governance defects.

Gambari, who chairs the board of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy, and Development (SCDDD), cautioned against the emergence of defects in governance and the concentration of power within a single political party.
