Peter Obi Criticizes Politicians Over Security Concerns

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), voiced serious concerns regarding the worsening security situation across Nigeria. He referenced recent incidents of killings and kidnappings, particularly highlighting the ongoing captivity of schoolchildren in Borno and Oyo State.

Obi noted that two weeks after the abduction of victims in Oyo State, they remain in captivity despite the efforts of security agencies. He pointed to a recent attack in Plateau State that resulted in the deaths of at least seven people and injuries to ten others, as well as the abduction of 25 residents in Kogi State.

Additionally, he mentioned the killing of two police officers in Anambra State and the abduction of students and teachers in schools in Oyo and Borno States. Obi criticized politicians for being more focused on the upcoming elections rather than addressing the urgent safety concerns of citizens, emphasizing the need for immediate action to tackle Nigeria's severe security challenges.
