He cited a recent incident at an airport where officials allegedly locked vehicles, preventing him from leaving, as an example of the hostility faced by opposition politicians.

Obi noted that this atmosphere has made people reluctant to publicly associate with him due to fears of becoming targets themselves. He urged that the situation is not normal and highlighted the discouragement of public attendance at family ceremonies to avoid unwanted attention from the government.
